“the “egoic mind,” which is his collective term for all the Saboteurs, is like a giant snowman that melts away under the light of conscious awareness.” - Shirzad Chamine
We have the ability to constantly shift our perception and as a result how we interact with the world. When things are hard, we move to a very binary good & bad/black & white. When things are easy, more color gets added to the world and we see the different vibrant shades that exist. The wonderful thing about this is that we have the ability to shift towards adding more color and context to the world, even when it’s hard.
Shirzad Chamine in his book, Positive Intelligence, provides an excellent exercise to help you center yourself and even when times are hard and stressful, to help shift away from black & white to the vibrant colors that exist in your world.
What I learned
When you are feeling that black & white, close your eyes and for three deep breaths focus on one of your senses and in particular one focus with that one sense:
touch
smell
hearing
taste
For example, right now my feet are on the ground and i feel the smoothness of the wood under my feet, I’m going to focus on that.
This small meditation, Shirzad recommends these PQ reps 100 times a day, will help you get back to center.
Hope this can help give you some of the direction and clarity it’s given me. Please let me know how it goes!
